When Pacquiao decided not to fight Mayweather, the only other real opponent for him to fight was Shane Mosley. The Mayweather vs. Mosley event will be telecast live on PPV on May 1st. While these are two of the boxing industry’s most successful fighters, Mayweather is still the firm favorite to win the bout. Mayweather has already admitted that Mosley will be one of the toughest opponents that he’s ever faced but he believes that he will be able to hold onto his undefeated title. Many of the online bookies tend to agree with Mayweather’s assessment.
Both fighters seem confident that they will win the fight, and they both have excellent boxing records. Pacquiao, the best pound for pound boxer in the world, would have been a much better fight for Mayweather with a huge potential for his first professional loss. The May 1st fight was originally scheduled to be between Mayweather and Pacquiao but the two could not agree on pre-fight drug testing and many believe that Mayweather was using the vast requirements for drug testing as a way to get out of the fight.
