Manny Pacquiao – UFC President Dana White is very impressed with Manny Pacquiao’s recent string of sensational performances and acknowledged that if there were many more like the Filipino ring icon, the sport of boxing would be much better off.
White was among the many high-profile personalities who attended “The Event”, which saw Pacquiao dominate Ghanaian challenger Joshua Clottey for 12 rounds in front of 51,000 screaming fans at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It was a masterful performance which saw the third largest indoor audience in recent boxing history. A reported 700,000 pay-per-view buys were also achieved by the bout.
The UFC head has been known to direct some negative comments about the sport of boxing, considered the main rival of MMA. He has been critical of the state of boxing and how there are so many things wrong about it right now. He has made an exception in the sport’s top superstar however, and stressed that fighters like the “Pacman” are just what boxing needs right now to make it better.
