Jerry Jones can now add boxing to the list of events he will host in the first year of opening Cowboys Stadium. On Saturday, Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey will fight for the world welterweight championship. Pacquiao currently holds the World Boxing Organization's title of welterweight champion with a career record of 50-3-2 and 38 knockouts, while Clottey is 35-3 with 20 knockouts.

Bob Arum and Todd DuBoef of Top Rank closed the deal with Jones after watching the Cowboys defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in their first playoff win since 1996. "This is going to be one of the biggest events in the history of boxing," Arum said. "This is the most incredible stadium setting I have ever seen. It is absolutely unbelievable. This is going to be much, much more than just a boxing match. When people see this event and how it will be presented, nothing in the past will ever compare to it."

Jones said, "I have wanted to bring a major boxing event to North Texas for many years, so why not bring in the biggest and the best? Manny Pacquiao is boxing's No. 1 pound for pound attraction and the world champion. Manny defending his title against Joshua Clottey is not just a great fight, it's a great event, and one we can showcase to the fullest in Cowboys Stadium. We're going to promote this like it was the Super Bowl."

With the speed and power of Pacquiao and the size and strength of Clottey, it looks like everything is bigger in Texas.
